This trio of sherbet-colored dahlias was photographed in neighbor and interior designer Dana Romeis's small city garden. Dana planted the dahlias, which are grown from tubers, so they get filtered western light. As Dana told me recently, "they grew to 10-inches tall and then just sat there all summer long." Cool autumn weather certainly brought out the best in these beauties, didn't it?
Dana has provided the best location for these beauties.I hope your dazzling beauties will inspire more people to try dahlias.
Dana – I hope your dazzling beauties will inspire more people to try dahlias. The relative nuisance of storing tubers is definitely worth the trouble…hello dahlia. Could you give info on cultivars and sources?
Beautiful, yes the Dahlias prefer a cooler evening than St Louis can provide in the summer. Dana has provided the best location for these beauties.
