Since I couldn't hobble over to last Saturday's Holiday on the Plaza, my blogging assistant took pictures just as the event was getting going. Now that I put them in this post I realize there aren't many children in the photos, which I gather is due to the fact that Jim was there before the festivities had begun. There was an activities tent set up behind 10denza and Scape, in case of inclement weather, which luckily held off until after the tree lighting ceremony at the end of the day.
In addition to the unveiling of the holiday windows, there were activities throughout the neighborhood, including carolers and an ice sculptor at Euclid and McPherson. Many people took advantage of the mild weather and walked the area, though Holly the Trolley was available to ferry those who were in a hurry.
After an afternoon of wondering whether it was going to rain, as if on cue it started sprinkling just after the tree lighting ceremony.
For those who missed the festivities there is still plenty of time to enjoy this year's edition of the beautiful tree on Maryland Plaza, and I'll be posting pictures of the holiday shop windows over the coming weeks.
Very funny Connie…Charlotte Lyons creates the banners using my photos. Love how she combined ornament shot from Jim’s collection with a section of Centro’s holiday windows from last year. Thanks for commenting.
Wow! Did Santa “get rid of” Mrs. Claus for a trophy wife!!
P.S. Love your new photo header. Where is the picture from….a private collection?!
