Part II of my post on Saturday's Children's Parade features more clever costumes and more participants who look like they are straight out of Central Casting. It turns out that the family members pictured above live in Brentwood and Maplewood, but as one of them said, "we are here all the time frequenting the restaurants."
You may be able to spot a few bubbles in the photo above from a huge bubble machine parked on Euclid just south of Maryland. It was a great source of entertainment at parade's end.
Emcees for both the children's parade and the dog parade were Jeremy Corray (Captain America) and Sarah Thompson (Queen Amidala). Dennis Gorg, above right, was a co-producer of the day and evening Halloween events along with Frances Thompson, shown below right.
Bob Kramer's Marionettes entertained on the Mainstage, above.
Marquise, a dancer with the Cotton Club group who performed before the showing of The Artist on Maryland Plaza last month, led the children in a Michael Jackson routine.
Frances Thompson's six-year-old triplet, Alana (with black headband), was the Hula Hoop Princess. She and her friend Katherine Goalby, above, would still be out there twirling the hoops if Captain America hadn't stepped in.
And the final shot shows another elaborately-dressed group enjoying Halloween in the CWE. Tomorrow I'll post photos of the always-humorous dog parade.
Nice job!
