So here we are in the thick of the holiday season and I, for one, didn't see it coming. That's why this post about a fabulous new shop, The Flower Shop at The Chase, is appearing the day after the holiday instead of weeks before, when there was time for you to order something wonderful for your Thanksgiving table. My internal calendar hasn't been in sync with the real thing for quite some time.
On Wednesday morning I was able to photograph an arrangement, shown above, just before it was taken out of the shop (located in the lobby of The Chase near the Gift Shop) for delivery. Senior Designer, Rod Nelson, filled the hostess's container with protea, naked-seeded euc (eucalyptus), thistle, a lovely natural cherry rose, and winterberry (approximately $48). Rod sources flowers locally whenever he can, including materials grown by the Amish community. He emphasized that he sticks with organic natural colors, shunning dyed flowers.
I will be posting more about The Flower Shop at The Chase soon. In the meantime, stop by to pick up a bouquet of fresh or dried flowers and while you're there, poke around to see the assortment of decorative items Rod has for the holidays, including some snazzy skirts for the season ahead.
The Flower Shop at The Chase, 10 to 6 Tuesday thru Saturday, Sunday & Monday by appointment, 212 N. Kingshighway, (314) 633-6910.
