The stilt walker from
Circus Kaput was also the magician who enthralled the children and had the adults laughing at his silly humor too. I guess we're all four-year-olds at heart.
Observations: I noticed when I put the first set of 4th of July photos on the blog yesterday that those who follow me on Facebook (many former CWEnders), started sharing the link with friends. What that says to me is that they remember how wonderful it was to raise their children here. As I looked around at the crowd celebrating our country's birth in the neighborhood on Thursday, it made me very happy to see the the huge number and diversity of families that live here. Our daughter, who is in her early 30s, texted me Thursday evening to thank us for the wonderful 4th of Julys she remembers as a child growing up on Lenox Place. I know someday those of you with young children will get the same thanks.
Many thanks again to the Central West End Association and all the board members and volunteers who organized the event. To Straub's for fresh lemonade and cookies, the crew that served shaved ice, and to Circus Kaput for the wonderful entertainment. It was the best 4th of July celebration ever!
we have fond memories too! all of this because of YOU! thanks, Nicki!
I second that! It was the best Fourth of July – great, simple fun!
