The weather has been so atypical this summer that it's hard for me to grasp it's Labor Day. It's somewhat ironic that it takes the full growing season for container gardens to look as bounteous as they do right now, a last gasp before summer's end.
The lush full-skirted planting above is one of three at the roundabout near the Jewel Box in Forest Park.
On the west side of the Cathedral Basilica grounds there are a couple of lovely pots filled with beautiful hibiscus and simple impatiens, above and below.
Another flowering pot on the Cathedral grounds.

The containers throughout the commercial district of CWE North were planted by Bowood Farms, above & below.
Contemporary planters alongside Lester's are filled with a myriad of plantings including grasses that help block the view of the parking lot from diners within.

The planters around the Chase-Park Plaza are beautiful any season of the year.
Grand hanging baskets line the fencing at the Chase Hotel's patio & pool area, above.
The containers in front of Rasoi on Euclid look delightfully cool and refreshing all summer long.
Dramatic pots line the entry to the Park East Tower on Laclede at Euclid.
I captured a beautiful butterfly visiting a planter on the corner of Euclid and West Pine oblivious to the traffic and people walking by. (If you've read Barbara Kingsolver's Flight Behavior, you'll understand why I can no longer look at butterflies with anything but awe.)
Enjoy the holiday.
Thanks for commenting Mary!
I LOVED Flight Behaviour! One of my favorite books ever! And all the planters are glorious!
