I haven't figured out how to take photographs through glass without getting my own reflection too, that's why most of these holiday window shots are taken from the side. Perhaps these photos will further entice you to get out and see the spectacular decorations throughout the neighborhood up close. I certainly hope so. Voting for the best holiday window(s) ends the day after Christmas.
You may have noticed that I'm using a close-up shot of this really fun window at Left Bank Books for a holiday banner at the top of my blog page. Left Bank's windows, above and two following photos, were created by Joni Spear of Joni Spear Interior Design.
Interior designers were paired with 11 of the shops or restaurants in the neighborhood by St. Louis Homes & Lifestyles, media sponsor of the Window Walk Contest.
Though Arlene Lille Interiors at 4739 McPherson is not an entry in the Window Walk Contest, it's lovely to peer through the windows at the marvelous furniture and decorations nonetheless.
Charlie Houska painted humorous "Houska-inspired" fishbowl ornaments on his gallery windows, 4728 McPherson.
You've got to love the "Old Man Winter" theme at Herbie's, 405 N. Euclid. It's certainly been the winter for snowflakes!
We welcomed Cucina Pazzo, 392 N. Euclid, to the neighborhood last month and they in turn stepped right up and got into the spirit of the Window Walk Contest, see above.
Love this shot of Gringo too, corner of Euclid & McPherson, taken early on the morning of the December 14 snowfall.
Teresa Drury of Textures Interior Design created the window at The Silver Lady, 4736 McPherson, above.
Cassie's eye-catching window at 316 N. Euclid is filled with beautiful ornaments, reindeer and brightly-colored trees.
Though Wolfgang's Pet Stop, 328 N. Euclid, has the smallest display window in the neighborhood, Holly Blumeyer of Holly Blumeyer Interior Design was able to feature a theme close to Wolfgang's heart: "Santa's Rescue Sleigh."
I am signing off now to start preparations for Christmas at our house. Have a wonderful holiday and thanks to all for stopping by to view the wonderful window displays and gifts you'll find in the neighborhood this holiday season. Merry Christmas!
Maggie: Thanks so much…I was totally out of superlatives and beginning to repeat myself by the time I finished! Merry Christmas to you too!
Nicki,
Your holiday posts this year on windows, local shopping and the goings-on around the area have been some of your best yet! I am thoroughly ready for Christmas now! Merry merry to you and yours.
