In the interest of time, or lack thereof, I want to give you a brief introduction to two new restaurants that opened in the neighborhood over the last couple of weeks, Nathalie's and Evangeline's Bistro and Music Hall. There is little time before Christmas to tell you about either in depth, so here is a snippet of information about each.
CWE and Clarksville resident Nathalie Pettus recently opened a stunning new restaurant, Nathalie's, at 4356 Lindell. Nathalie's, filled with family memorabilia, is a tribute to the Pettus family whom Nathalie describes as having "the best of both worlds, splitting its time between St. Louis City and Overlook Farm in Clarksville, Missouri."
Nathalie is photographed above with Jimmy Voss, whom many of you will recognize from Duff's where he was the chef for many years. He left Duff's before the restaurant closed its doors and took over the management of the restaurant at Overlook Farm. He has developed the menu at Nathalie's and is now running both kitchens using the freshly harvested bounty (in season), meats, poultry, and even tilapia raised at the farm.
Nathalie's, 4356 Lindell, 4 p.m. to Midnight, Closed Tuesdays; lunch and brunch to be added at a later date. For reservations (314) 533-1580, or visit Open Table. See the Music listing column, right, for entertainment offered at Nathalie's in an intimate theater room on the second floor.
Don Bailey, left, and Tim Ducey, right, opened Evangeline's Bistro and Music Hall, a French Creole restaurant, along with Tim's daughter Maggie, at 512 N. Euclid (at Washington) in early December. Maggie (not pictured) is the 19-year-old kitchen manager and also leads the charm offensive.
The restaurant is open every day from 11 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. and features live music (see music sidebar for current listing). Evangeline's serves the same fantastic menu, at reasonable prices, all day long. They'll be open on Christmas Eve and there's a children's menu, "Les Petites," too. View the menu on the website.

Haven’t been to Nathalie’s yet, but we love Evangeline’s!
