Tonight's Local Social features entertainment from 5 to 9 throughout the commercial district on Euclid from Maryland to Washington Avenue. This month the parking lot across from Evangeline’s is a spot not to miss. Come challenge a friend to a game of chess provided by World Chess Hall of Fame on an 8’x8’ chess board, listen to live Jazz, enjoy artists and performers (including a fire juggler) and visit some of the local businesses (Christiane's, Indie Mats). Evangeline's is hosting entertainment from New Orleans – a stilt walker and a belly dancer. There could be a mime too!
Saturday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Take advantage of this one! Rid your life of outdated electronics with a clear conscience. WeCycle will be on the McPherson parking lot across from The Vino Gallery at Walton to accept all electronics (except big box tvs) at no charge….washer/dryers too.
9 a.m. Alderman Lyda Krewson has put out a call to action to turn the soil in the 5100 block of Delmar (west of Kingshighway, just east of The Glass Factory) in preparation for a sunflower garden that will beautify the neighborhood. Bring gloves, and a shovel or pick if you have one. Devote as much time as you can.
