Be sure to head over to the Shakespeare Festival in Forest Park this week before the 15th season of free Shakespeare in the Park ends this Sunday. The festival's excellent production of Antony and Cleopatra (set is shown above) opened on May 22. Performances are held every night, except Tuesday, at 8 p.m. in Shakespeare Glen, just east of the Art Museum.
The Green Room performance, which is a shorten version of the play, and extremely helpful if you are unfamiliar with Shakespeare, begins at 6:30 p.m. Bring a blanket, a picnic and a bottle of wine, or purchase a light supper at the festival. Reserved seating is $10 or $20 (purchase here, or before the performance). Because the production is free, donations are strongly encouraged.
