NA few weeks ago I was all set to publicize information about 7 CWE restaurants, pictured below, that are on STL Today’s Restaurant Critic Ian Froeb’s STL 100 list. Vicia in Cortex Innovation District is #1. The newly opened Salt & Smoke at 392 N. Euclid made the list too, though it opened after the paper’s October 19, 2019 cutoff and was included because of the other Salt & Smoke locations.
Since then however, the world as we knew it has turned upside down. Because of the Covid-19 virus, the neighborhood’s restaurants and bars have closed or will close by Thursday night, while some are now offering curbside service or delivery only.
We should be very concerned about the health of residents of our CWE community and also the health of our neighborhood businesses, which we hope can survive this unprecedented crisis. These businesses can use your support now and in the weeks to come.
CWEScene.com has published a list of businesses within the CWE North Community Business District that are closed or changing how they operate, see below.
The Vino Gallery, 4701 McPherson, is not mentioned below, but propreitor Alex Head advised that they are open for carry out or delivery on larger orders. Following the CWEScene’s list are other CWE businesses that aren’t in the district but are local favorites as well.

Buongiorno from Roma CWE friends. Nancy and I have been quarantined for two weeks watching this crisis unfold. It is very real and you must take seriously. Thank the lord as we show no signs of the virus. We are cleared to return to the states this Saturday. You can see some of our observations on Facebook at @Baringhope. Be well all. Arthur
