The Central West End Association’s 2023 4th of July Parade kicked off at 10 a.m. last Tuesday at the corner of Euclid and McPherson where approximately 350 participants gathered for the annual event.
CWEA President Brian Flowers, above right, and CWEnders Mike and Katie Heaney are shown at the head of the parade carrying the flag.
A new addition to the parade this year was a lion dance troop that included a three-piece marching band.

Former 28th Ward (now the 9th Ward) Alderman Mike Gras with his children in tow.
Parade-goers made their way to Maryland Plaza where they were greeted by face painters and jugglers. There were snow cones, more music and, as always, a chance to visit with old friends and make some new ones too.
The Mo Echo Brass Band was accompanied by a bubble machine.
