The final CWE Window Walk of the 2023 season takes place tomorrow afternoon from 1 to 5. A schedule of events can be found on the cwescene website.
In the meantime, here are a few snapshots from last Saturday’s Window Walk event. It was a drizzly afternoon until the skies opened up just as a troupe from the CWE’s Consuming Kinetics Dance studio began their performance at Euclid and McPherson. Otherwise, face painting, balloon artists, jugglers and carriage rides went on as planned, and those I encountered seemed to be unbothered by the weather (except for the horse, below, who was not having any of it), and happy to be out in the neighborhood getting in the holiday spirit.
The Landolfi Quartet performed at the corner of Euclid and Maryland.
A sketch artist with a family group at Euclid and McPherson.
Left, Melissa Haynes, one of the Window Walk designers from Mel Brooks Interiors was out enjoying the afternoon with friends. Melissa decorated a shop window at BlueMercury at Maryland & Euclid and another at Bella Bridesmaids on McPherson.
Grace Thompson, a nurse at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, “moonlights” as a unicycle rider for Circus Kaput. She’s also participated in many 4th of July Parades and dabbled in face painting at several events too.
With gratitude to Kate Haher, executive director of the CWE North Community Improvement District, for organizing the Window Walk Events.
