Thank you to everyone who donated books for the Little Free Libraries along the Hodiamont Track Greenway. The book drive was a tremendous success and Judith Arnold is extremely grateful.
Judith Arnold, an urban planner and member of the St. Louis Association of Community Organizations (SLACO), has put out a call for books for children and adults to re-stock nine Little Free Libraries that are situated along the Hodiamont Track Greenway. The libraries, which were installed in 2022 along the former streetcar and bus route, are situated at 910 Academy, 4705 Kensington, 921 N. Taylor, 7906 Aubert, 921 N. Vandeventer, 5215 Cates, 5888 Plymouth, 3924 Enright, and 4061 Enright. This area has been named Greenway on the Tracks in anticipation of becoming part of the region’s Great Rivers Greenway network. (A progress report on this designation was released earlier this year and can be viewed on this youtube video.)
Many readers participated in 2022’s book drive, which was extremely successful. Once again, we’ve arranged with TechArtista Co-Working Environment at 4818 Washington (just east of Euclid) to be the collection point for the book donations.
Drop books off starting Monday, April 1 through Friday, April 5, from 9:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Ring the bell at the entry to TechArtista, and Ted Isla, the community manager, will buzz you in.
Thanks to you all for your generosity.
Thanks, Nicki. I have some children’s books that I drop off next week, following your suggestions.
Thank you Nicki for this announcement and request. It’s so timely as I have a car trunk full of books that badly need a good home!
