Last Saturday evening’s 7th Annual CWE Cocktail Party drew approximately 3200 people to the neighborhood. Euclid turned into party central between Maryland and McPherson. The event commemorates what is purported to be the first cocktail party on record held at the home of Mrs. Julius S. Walsh, Jr. at 4510 Lindell Boulevard in 1917.
Rainbow Stilt Walkers greeted the crowd, above.Blues-great Marquise Knox has a large following in St. Louis and drew many attendees to their feet (see photo below).
Also performing on the Main Stage at McPherson was Grooveliner. The Maryland Stage featured Sarah Jane and the Blue Notes and Monkh.
Neighborhood restaurants were busy serving cocktails and food. Those who participated included Brennan’s, above, Taste of Lebanon, Edera, Maryland House, Patty Long Catering, The Preston, Drunken Fish and Twisted Ranch.
Artists who participated in the event were Tiéliere Cheatam, andNick Fozzy, above.Klarity Lifestyle’s Amy Johnson, above, said this is her favorite CWE event. She was there with Nicolae Bica, a violinist with the St. Louis Symphony.
