Parade participants meandered along Euclid from McPherson to the Maryland Plaza fountain where 2024’s Fourth of July’s festivities continued.
What struck me as I look at the photos is the number of people who joined the parade and the “after party” were there without children or grandchildren. The parade was for everyone to celebrate the 4th, even visitors who just happened upon the group gathered around the fountain.
S’Mores Snow Cone Bar was a popular spot, as were the hot dog and popcorn booths.
The talented Mo Echo Brass Band set up under a tent and played a wide variety of music that appealed to all ages, see below.
Hats off to the dragon, whose limbs worked overtime entertaining the kids.
Taking a well-deserved break from what was obviously a very hot costume.
Thanks to SLMPD officers Lieutenant Zarrick (working for The City’s Finest). and 5th District Police Officers Williams and Heinemann for ensuring the safety of the parade participants.
And once again thanks to Brian Flowers and the Central West End Association for organizing another fantastic 4th of July Family Parade. With gratitude to the sponsors, CWE North CID and Maryland Plaza’s Frances Thompson, and everyone who participated in the parade. What wonderful place to live.
The photo of the tiny dancing couple is very charming! Really a wonderful event.
Thanks, Nicki. I love our neighborhood.
Yes what a wonderful place to live! Wholesome and friendly and no negative incidents
