Modern transit was one mode of transportation to ferry children to the CWE’s 2024 Halloween Parade, where everyone gathered on the parking lot at McPherson and Walton Ave. last Saturday at 11 a.m.
Toddlers were more difficult to corral. The Moolah Yomo car brigade led parade-goers to the Main Stage at Maryland and Euclid.A trio from the CWE’s Consuming Kinetics Dance Company (only one dancer is photographed, in the foreground) and Circus Kaput’s Joe Fingerhut were followed by a large number of families.
Neighborhood shop owners handed out Halloween treats. There were so many more children in the parade this year that one shopowner reported he had to make an emergency run to Straub’s to resupply.
This year’s absolutely perfect Children’s Halloween Parade was organized by Kate Haher and Nina Emerson of the CWE North Neighborhood Community Improvement District, co-producers Frances Thompson and Dennis Gorg, The City’s Finest (TCF) who provided officers to keep Euclid clear of traffic during the parade, and Sean Anthony and Stanley Johnson who kept the streets and sidewalks clean throughout the day.
