Fifty-five contestants entered 2024’s CWE Halloween Costume Contest on Saturday, October 26. When asked by emcees Trish Bush and KSDK meterologist Jim Castillo if the contestants made their own costumes, almost all said yes, including the top 3 prize winners.
The top prize of $2500 went to a towering Grimm.Strolling with Cruella won 2nd place and a $1000 prize.The 3rd place winner was The Aztec Warrior who won $500.Winners 4 through 10, including Draco the Dragon won $200 in CWE Bucks, which can be used in businesses throughout the neighborhood.
Other finalists include Psycho Circus, whom Trish Bush called “your worst nightmare,”FurbyShipwreckedHere’s an amazing General Grievous from Star Wars, who received lots of cheers and applause from the audience for his DIY costume. Other winners (not photographed) were Princes of Darkness and Becky, Queen of Carpets.
The Costume Contest judges were CWEnder Kate Walter, Jim Espy, Johnnie Brock’s Will Mullins, and Brake Landscaping’s Marjorie Johnson.
At the conclusion of the contest, DJ Agile One took the main stage and kept the party going until midnight.
