Constance Lambdin, above, opened CWE Yoga at 399 N. Euclid (above Left Bank Books) on December 1, where she reported they had a fantastic first month—”even with the holiday season in full swing.” January’s weather put a damper on things, but since the thaw, classes have filled up significantly. She feels really good about what she and her 13 “incredibly talented yoga teachers are creating in the neighborhood. We’re excited to become part of the CWE community.”
Constance has been immersed in the St. Louis yoga space for over 20 years. Her first class was conducted at Marbles Studio in Lafayette Square, which became Southtown Yoga, which closed in 2020 to her dismay.
She chose the CWE for her new business because it has always been one of her favorite neighborhoods, close to where she grew up and now lives in Tower Grove South. “The architecture, walkability, and energy make it a special place. Having a neighborhood studio that people can walk to in one of the most dynamic areas is a dream come true.” Constance is also “a huge cheerleader for St. Louis. It’s a privilege to add this business to the incredible tapestry that makes this city shine.”

Constance set up her business as a revenue-sharing model, which creates an opportunity for the teachers to make a sustainable living teaching yoga. “It’s something that’s pretty rare in the yoga space,” she explained. “I’m really proud to offer a model that values and supports its teachers in a meaningful way.”
Since CWE Yoga opened it has attracted a “wonderfully diverse clientele drawn from the neighborhood and Clayton. We design our offerings to meet all experience levels—that’s truly our specialty. With class sizes capped at 10, we’re able to provide a highly personalized yoga experience.” For those looking for more individualized attention, the studio offers 1:1 instruction as well.
I stopped in for a restorative yoga class led by Constance last Sunday afternoon—a refreshing antidote to the freezing temperatures and head-spinning news cycle. The studio is beautifully done, it’s a peaceful and relaxing space.
As I prepared to head home after class, Constance mentioned that she hosted a yoga retreat in France last summer, and that she’s planning another retreat in Europe again this summer. She’ll post that information on the website when plans are finalized.
