After months and months of planning, renovation, permit applications, tastings, hiring, and headaches, Erica and Eugene Tsimerman have finally set the opening date for Pass the Past Coffee, located at 4740 McPherson. Opening day is this Sunday, March 23.
The Tsimermans worked with local roaster First Crack to create their special house blend, which will be featured in all the espresso drinks. Drip and pour-over coffees will also feature the house blend as well as a single origin roast. They are also working with locally-based Teatopia for their loose-leaf teas.
Pass the Past Coffee, which occupies the back half of the renovated space, also includes the Tsimermans’ vintage clothing and housewares collection in the front. The shop will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.Rothschild Development’s Scott Sturdevant provided updates on the status of other businesses at the corner of Euclid and McPherson. Session Taco (formerly Mission Taco) is slated to open mid-April and is already booking Cinco de Mayo events.
Mainlander, at 392 N. Euclid, will open the bar side in late-May, and the dining room the first week of June. Just south, in the space next to Ranoush, Tikka Tangy is planning to open in early May.
Stacked STL, coming to the former Pi space at the northeast corner of Euclid and McPherson, is a month behind schedule and is now planning on opening between Memorial Day and the third week of June.
It’s been a long time coming, but the time is close at hand when that important corner will be bustling once again. In the meantime, be sure to welcome and support Pass the Past Coffee starting this Sunday, March 23, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. They’ll have pastries too.
The commitment and fortitude of ‘Pass the Past’ merchants is remarkable! Bless them! Look forward to the all of that corner being alive!!!
