I am pleased to share the following information and photos sent by STL Village’s Founding Executive Director Madeline Franklin, (above with Al Fleischer), and Communications Volunteer Liz Backus regarding their fall fundraiser. The event celebrated 11 years of building community, connection, and caring for older adults.
CWE-based STL Village is a not-for-profit community network that helps people age 50 and older stay in their own homes with 24/7 phone/Internet access to a full range of activities and support services. Over the past 11 years the organization has created an extraordinary community of neighbors helping neighbors. Older adults have an opportunity to maintain independence, thrive in homes they love, and lead active lives. Members have the security of knowing that if help is needed, an extensive network of trusted resources is just a phone call away.
The October 7 fundraiser, “Shines Bright on the Hill,” was held at La Verona at The Marketplace. According to Franklin: “Guests enjoyed the melodious sounds of Acoustik Element, gourmet cuisine, a silent auction, and exciting raffle prizes.”

Bill Siedhoff, above, was honored with the 2025 Stellar Villager Award.

Seidoff and Ron Daugherty, founder of The Daugherty Foundation (second from left), shared their impressive Alzheimer’s research achievements. Others in the photo are from left: Lee Metcalf, Daugherty, Board Members Katie MacLean and Jennifer Higginbotham as well as Marla Berger.
