Please welcome the newest member of the Central
West End Neighborhood Security Initiative (NSI) team, Isabella
Lovadina. Isabella is the new Court Advocate
for the Forest Park Southeast (FPSE) and Central West End (CWE)
neighborhoods. A partnership between the Washington University Medical
Center and the CWE NSI has created an opportunity for Isabella to make a
difference in these two
neighborhoods.
Many
neighborhoods throughout the City of St. Louis have experienced success
by taking an active role in the criminal justice system process. The
CWE and FPSE neighborhoods are fortunate to be able to support a full
time advocate. Regarding the position, Isabella
had this to say, “Many times after an individual or community is
victimized, they suffer many unpleasant feelings and emotions. Many
times victims feel that there is no one to turn to and to help guide
them in the long process of keeping these criminals behind bars. I will
be there to encourage and guide them through a difficult and confusing
process. I will notify the community of crimes that are happening in
their neighborhoods and encourage them to play an active role by
volunteering to help keep their neighborhoods safe.”
Isabella
believes that the position is a perfect fit for her and a way to
utilize her passion to help the community in making sure justice is
served. She brings a unique understanding to the role. As a retired
police officer she understands and appreciates how the justice system
works and as a previous victim she can understand and relate to other
victims.
If you would like to volunteer to be a part of the Court Advocate efforts in the CWE or FPSE neighborhoods please contact the NSI office.
Isabella Lovadina can be reached at the NSI office phone (314) 454-5808 email [email protected] starting Monday, January 7, 2013.
