After what seems like years with few events in the neighborhood due to the pandemic, last Saturday’s CWE’s Sidewalk Sale was a refreshing reminder of how things used to be. The bright colors and vivid patterns on visitors, merchants and their merchandise, was refreshing and delightful.
The CWE North Community Improvement District organized the July 17th Sidewalk Sale, which coincided with summer’s Art Stroll. Most of the businesses on Euclid from Maryland to McPherson put sale items out front, and jugglers, musicians, and face painters entertained visitors of all ages. 
Erica Tsimerman, far right, proprietor of Pass the Past, a Vintage General Store, exhibited an array of shoes and clothing in front of her shop at 4744 McPherson.It was great to see CWE-based designer Amy Johnson (in black hat, left), who held a sample sale of her popular Klarity tops and dresses.
The proprietors of Beauty Impact Accessories based at TechArtista, brought an assortment of clothing and jewelry.
and Abigail’s Gift Boutique set up shop on the north side of McPherson.
As part of the Art Stroll, a caricature artist from Circus Kaput sketched portraits of passersby, and art galleries on McPherson (Duane Reed, Philip Slein, projects + gallery and Houska Gallery) were open for business.

Upcoming events sponsored by CWE North Community Improvement District include this Saturday’s Meet in the Street from 5 to 10 p.m., and Fitness at the Fountain on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. The next Art Stroll is scheduled for Saturday, August 21 from 12 to 4 p.m.
