On Saturday morning October 30th, parade-goers meandered along Euclid from McPherson to the corner of Euclid and Maryland, where the Halloween festivities continued.
Circus Kaput’s Joe Fingerhut (in video above) led the crowd in some familiar dance routines that had all generations moving to the beat.
The CWE’s Consuming Kinetics Dance Company took center stage as well, above and below.

Pumpkin decorating was a popular activity, so much so that Frances Thompson, above right, one of the organizers of Saturday’s events, expressed surprise that 100 pumpkins were snapped up so quickly and decorated in a flash. Climbing into Cinderella’s carriage was another popular attraction.
Neighborhood shops and restaurants were stocked with Halloween treats to pass out to parade-goers.
The first events of the day were a huge success and it was delightful to see neighbors and visitors alike having such a wonderful time in the Central West End once again. Photos of the Canine Costume Contest follow.
