Yesterday CWEnder Bruce Seymour sent a video he created showing what happened to New City School at Lake and Waterman during the July 28th storm. Luckily no one was injured, and the school will open for the school year on time, due to clean-up efforts by Woodard’s restoration service and help provided by many parent and neighborhood volunteers.
Many other organizations, businesses, and residences in the St. Louis region were also flooded. Since these super storms are happening with greater frequency, one must ask what agencies are responsible for addressing the likely prospect of future flooding, what is the plan for next time, and the time after that?
“New City Strong.” Alexis Wright says and that sums up both New City School and the Central West End community. Disaster sometimes brings out the best in all of us and the recent flood this past July that so devastated parts of New City School once again is a testimony to the incredible community the Central West End is. Nicki thank you for yet another terrific story
