Following the kids parade, neighborhood canines were readied for their runway moment. Enterprising young Pershing Place residents set up a concession stand along the parade route to benefit Stray Rescue. Hot chocolate, apple cider, and dog treats were offerings of the day. Families paraded south on Euclid Avenue from McPherson to the main stage at Maryland and Euclid Avenues. On the main stage, Circus Kaput performer Joe Fingerhut, above right, and a talented young volunteer taught the enthusiastic crowd some fun dance moves.
Halloween in the CWE 2017: Kids’ Parade: Part 1
In spite of the weather, spirits were high among the large numbers of people who participated in Saturday’s Halloween events in the Central West End. Morning dawned cold and grey and remained that way throughout the day. Nevertheless, there were still hundreds who participated in both the kids’ and canine costume parades at 11 a.m….
